Emergency Food Helpline

Covid-19 is a difficult time for everyone and during this period the Council and third sector organisations are keen to ensure that people requesting emergency food parcels get the support they need.

Packed lunch

We are helping to respond to those in need of emergency food and can put people in touch with Community Food Providers who can provide more regular support to individuals and families  and we can give advice on how to access financial help and support to self-isolate.

Individuals and families in need of emergency food can contact the national helpline to discuss the support they need on 0800 111 4000.
(When asked to choose an area - select Ayrshire and South of Scotland) or telephone Dumfries and Galloway Council on 01387 260600.

Information on other sources of support such as access to free sanitary products can be found here and a range of services provided by community organisations can be found through this interactive map at Third Sector Dumfries and Galloways website https://www.dgresilience.org.uk/.
