Emergency Food Helpline
Covid-19 is a difficult time for everyone and during this time the Council and its third sector partners are keen to ensure that people requesting emergency food parcels get the support they need.
We already help people who are shielded (at risk through medical conditions) and young people who are receiving free school meals.
We are now helping to handle calls from the public for emergency food parcels and allocating these to appropriate Community Food Providers to ensure the food packages are ready and accessible for any individuals and families in need.
If you need an emergency food package there is now one central number you can call:
0800 111 4000
When asked to choose an area, select Ayrshire and South of Scotland.
Information on local sources of support can also be found through this interactive map https://www.dgresilience.org.uk/
