Further information

Please note, if you have already submitted an application then do not apply again for the same period. If that application was refused and you disagree with the decision then please email ScottishWelfarefund@dumgal.gov.uk and ask for a review.

To assess your application, we will need the following evidence:

  • Proof of your positive PCR test (If claiming as a parent of a child, the child's PCR test) or your message from Test & Protect advising you to self-isolate if you are a close contact prior to 1st May 2022
  • Proof of your pre-self-isolation income
  • A bank statement, showing your name, address, sort code and account number to allow payment to be made
  • Proof of employment/self-employment and that you cannot undertake your job/run your business without social contact or from home
  • Proof that your pay/income will reduce as a result of having to self-isolate

Evidence should be emailed to ScottishWelfareFund@dumgal.gov.uk clearly stating 'SISG', along with your name, National Insurance Number and full address.

A grant cannot be paid if:

  • If the Test & Protect Service has not requested that you self-isolate.  For example, you would not qualify if you are self-isolating because you are returning to the UK after being abroad or because you feel that you have symptoms and haven't been tested. If you are self-isolating under any other circumstances and you are struggling financially then you should apply for a Crisis Grant.
  • If you are not employed or self-employed.
  • If you are fully vaccinated and identified as a close contact prior to 1st May 2022 but continued to have a negative lateral flow test
