Scottish Child Payment Bridging Payments 2021
The Scottish Government announced on 8 March 2021 there would be two additional £100 payments made for each school aged child who receives Free School Meals on the basis of low income in 2021. They have now announced details of a further payment and an amendment to an already announced payment.
£160 will be paid in October then again in December for each P1 to S6 pupil who is entitled to Free School Meals due to their parent/guardian being in receipt of low income or a qualifying benefit. The payment can be used by families for any purpose as they see fit. There is no expectation that these payments are to be used for any specific purpose.
This is in addition to support delivered through the continuation of Free School Meals over the school holidays and the £130 Low Income Pandemic Payment.
